Career Opportunity: Vice President, Pensions Public Service Pension Plan Corporation

St. John’s, Newfoundland

As part of an overall pension reform, the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador announced a Joint Sponsorship Agreement in December 2014 that created an independent pension corporation, the Public Service Pension Plan Corporation (PSPPC), to administer the Province’s $5.6 billion Public Service Pension Plan and manage the investments of the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP) Fund.  The PSPPC is focused on building a new and truly world class organization. The mandate of the PSPPC is to deliver exceptional member services and provide high quality oversight and investment management with respect to the PSPP Fund. The PSPP Corporation is now seeking a founding Vice President, Pensions to provide overall leadership and operational execution of PSPPC’s pension administration operations.

Reporting to the CEO, and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President, Pensions is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and operational execution of Pension Administration operations.  The Vice President leads all administrative processes and employer services as well as member experience and outreach programs. The role ensures corporate-wide adherence to related policies affecting Plan members and advises the CEO on all related matters. As an executive role, it provides support to the CEO in achieving PSPPC’s key objectives: ensuring plan sustainability; helping plan members prepare for a comfortable retirement; and, managing the financial impact on taxpayers.

The ideal candidate brings executive level leadership experience in a business-to-consumer or outsourcing organization delivering administrative or client services through superior processes, procedures and technology.  Experience in financial services, particularly pensions, or regulated environments is highly preferred.  Strategic, innovative and highly motivated, the preferred candidate will bring the drive and service ethos to build a world class organization.
